Should we increase the OMA membership fees?OMA since its inception had never increased its membership fees despite the increase in life expenses over the last few yrs. as everybody will have notice the fee so far remained nominal at OR 15. On the other hand, no two will disagree with the fact that the members have never seen any benefit either as individuals or as a group from being a member in this association. Hence, no wonder that the number of active paying members have dwindled in the recent years.  However with the new board members taking charge, one of its first target was to make the benefits felt at both levels. It remains a dilemma how to proceed and maintain the gains, if any, without the financial support. Many of us believe there is no alternative apart from increasing the fees at some stage and make it more appropriate to the increase in the current life expenses. But members should rest assured, this will not take place until OMA board agrees on it after making sure the members are going to get reasonable and appropriate return against the money they are paying. This will be mostly in the form of exclusive discounts in many local outlets through which members can save lots of money.
